Finding work on Work24 (WorkNet)
Work24 (formerly WorkNet) is the government's official job site.
Why use it
- Being government-run, fraudulent and illegal listings are filtered out.
- It connects to employment centre counselling.
- It counts as evidence of job-seeking activity while claiming unemployment benefit.
- Vocational training information is available alongside.
How to use it
- Go to www.work24.go.kr and register. You need your alien registration number.
- Upload a CV — experience, qualifications, desired conditions.
- Search by area, industry and employment type.
- Apply to listings, or request employment centre counselling.
- When contacted, always check the working conditions.

- Wages and payday
- Working hours and rest days
- Whether social insurance is provided
- Whether accommodation is provided and at what cost — see dormitory-fees
- Contract term
Don't rely on what you're told verbally — confirm it in the employment contract. See employment-contract.

Questions people ask
The site is in Korean and it's hard. Visit an employment centre and a counsellor will help. Use 1350 interpretation alongside. Migrant workers' support centres help too.
Are there jobs I can't apply for because of my status? Yes. Permitted industries differ by status. Check with 1345 before applying.
What about job offers on social media or group chats? Be very careful. Demands for an advance payment, or to hand over your passport, mean fraud or illegality. Use official channels.
They're asking for an introduction fee. Demanding an excessive introduction fee from a worker in the formal process is a problem. Report it to 1350.
Take care
Offers promising easy money are mostly dangerous. In particular, requests to borrow your bankbook or ID, or to receive parcels on someone's behalf, are ways of using you in crime. Never agree.
