Understanding weekly holiday pay

Batay sa Agosto 2026Awtomatikong salinPinagmulan: 고용노동부15 tingin

Working your full week earns you a paid day off. The pay for that day is weekly holiday pay.

Who this covers

  • Workers who worked all their scheduled days in the week
  • Part-time workers too, if they meet the hours requirement

What to know

  1. The weekly holiday is paid. You get wages even though you are off.
  2. Full attendance is the condition. Being late or leaving early is treated differently from absence.
  3. Monthly-salaried pay often already includes it. Check your payslip.
  4. Hourly pay should show it as a separate line.

Steps

  1. Compare your scheduled days with the days you actually attended.
  2. Look for the weekly holiday line on your payslip.
  3. If it is missing, ask the employer to check.
  4. If it is not resolved, get advice from 1350.

What you need

  • Labour contract (scheduled days and hours per week)
  • Attendance records
  • Payslips

Where to go

  • Your regional labour office · labor.moel.go.kr
  • Your local support centre for foreign workers

Questions people ask

Do part-timers get it? Yes, if scheduled weekly hours meet the threshold. Check the threshold with 1350.

They say "your hourly rate already includes it". If included, the contract and payslip must show it, and the result must still be at or above the minimum wage.

Do I lose it if I am absent? You may lose it for that week. But a day the company told you not to come is not an absence.

Take care

Some employers adjust scheduled days or split contracts to avoid weekly holiday pay. Record how you actually work.
