Support for marriage migrants
There is more support for marriage migrants and multicultural families than most people realise. Most simply don't know about it.
Where to start
Family centres (multicultural family support centres) are the starting point, and exist nationwide. See family-center.

- Call 1577-1366 and ask for your nearest family centre. Advice is available in your language.
- Visit the family centre and find out which programmes you can use.
- Read material in your own language on the Danuri portal.

Questions people ask
Does support stop once I take Korean nationality? It varies by scheme. Some multicultural family programmes remain available after naturalisation. Check with the family centre.
My husband or his family won't let me go. Attending classes and counselling is your right. Explain the situation to 1577-1366 and get advice. Control and isolation can be a form of domestic violence. See domestic-violence.
I have no time because of work. Some centres run evening and weekend programmes or online courses. Ask about home visiting education too.
I'm divorced — can I still use it? Where you are raising a child with Korean nationality and in similar cases, schemes remain available. Don't give up — ask. See f6-divorce-stay.

Beware anyone asking for money to "get you support". All public support is free and you can be guided directly by family centres and 1577-1366. Never give documents or money to a broker.
