Travel vaccinations

Batay sa Agosto 2026Awtomatikong salinPinagmulan: 질병관리청11 tingin

Vaccines need weeks to take effect. Check well in advance.

How to check

  1. Look up the recommendations for your destination on the KDCA overseas infectious disease pages.
  2. You can call 1339 for advice.
  3. Consult a travel clinic or public health centre.
  4. Check whether any vaccination is an entry requirement — some countries demand a certificate.
  5. Book the schedule. Some vaccines need several doses.

Commonly mentioned

  • Yellow fever — some countries require a certificate on entry; given only at designated centres.
  • Hepatitis A and B
  • Typhoid
  • Tetanus and diphtheria boosters
  • Malaria prophylaxis — tablets, not a vaccine; a prescription is needed.
  • Measles — check immunity when visiting outbreak areas.

What you need depends on the country, season, length of stay and your own health.

Where to go

  • 1339 KDCA call centre
  • KDCA www.kdca.go.kr (overseas infectious disease information)
  • Your local public health centre
  • A travel clinic or infectious diseases department at a large hospital
  • 1345 interpretation support

Questions people ask

Do I need them for a short trip home? It depends on the region and season. Tell 1339 or your health centre where you're going.

Do children need them too? Children have separate schedules. Consult paediatrics or a health centre. See vaccination-children.

How much does it cost? It varies by vaccine and provider, so no figures here. Public health centres are generally cheaper.

Can I be vaccinated while pregnant? Always discuss it with a doctor — some vaccines cannot be given in pregnancy.

Take care

Vaccinating just before travel means leaving before immunity develops. Seek advice at least several weeks ahead. A yellow fever certificate is issued only by designated centres, and without it entry can be refused. Photograph your vaccination records and keep them.
