Being admitted to hospital

Batay sa Agosto 2026Awtomatikong salinPinagmulan: 국민건강보험공단6 tingin

Admission runs: paperwork → room allocation → treatment → discharge settlement.

The process

  1. The doctor decides on admission and issues an admission decision.
  2. Complete admission paperwork at the administration desk. ID and insurance eligibility are checked.
  3. Sign the admission agreement. Check what it says about room grade and costs.
  4. You are allocated a room. If no standard room is free, you may be placed temporarily in an upgraded one.
  5. Receive treatment and, if needed, decide how caregiving will work. See caregiver.
  6. After discharge is decided, settle at the administration desk and collect the receipt and detailed statement.
  7. Request a medical certificate or admission/discharge confirmation at the same time if you need one.

Questions people ask

The upgraded room charge is too much. Ask to be allocated a standard room and say you are willing to wait. You can ask to be moved when one becomes free.

Must a family member stay with me? It depends on the hospital and your condition. Where there is an integrated nursing care ward, no family member need stay. See caregiver.

I need documents for my employer. Request an admission/discharge confirmation or medical certificate. See sick-note-work.

What if I can't work while admitted? For a work-related injury, industrial accident cover applies; otherwise check sickness-related schemes. 1350 can advise.

Take care

Check the room charge and non-covered items before signing the admission agreement. On discharge, always collect the receipt and detailed statement. You will need them for insurance claims or your employer.
