Clinic hours and closing days

Batay sa Agosto 2026Awtomatikong salinPinagmulan: 건강보험심사평가원3 tingin

Check your local clinic's hours before you fall ill, not after.

Typical hours

  • Weekdays — split into morning and afternoon, with no registration during the lunch break (usually about an hour).
  • Saturday — many places open in the morning only.
  • Sunday and public holidays — most neighbourhood clinics are closed.
  • General hospitals — run by appointment, and departments may have different days.

How to check

  1. Search the clinic name on Naver or Kakao Map to see opening hours.
  2. Look up hospital information on the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service (www.hira.or.kr).
  3. Use e-gen (www.e-gen.or.kr) to find clinics and pharmacies open right now.
  4. Call 119 to be directed to an open hospital.
  5. For a first visit, phoning to confirm hours and the registration cut-off is safest.

What you need

  • Alien registration card or other ID
  • Health insurance card or eligibility check, if enrolled
  • A list of medication you take

Where to go

  • e-gen www.e-gen.or.kr (open clinics and pharmacies)
  • 1339 Korea Disease Control Agency call centre
  • 119 emergencies and hospital guidance
  • 1644-2000 Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service

Questions people ask

Is the registration cut-off different from closing time? Yes. Registration usually closes about 30 minutes before the end of surgery hours. Allow extra time.

Where do I go during long holidays? Ask e-gen or 119 for clinics open over the holiday. See night-weekend-clinic.

Do I need an appointment? Neighbourhood clinics generally take walk-ins. General hospitals need appointments, and a referral letter helps. See specialist-referral.

Are any clinics open late? Look for clinics marked "야간진료" (night clinic), or use a hospital emergency department.

Take care

In an emergency, forget opening hours and call 119 or go to A&E. Chest pain, difficulty breathing, reduced consciousness and heavy bleeding are dangerous to wait on. See emergency-symptoms.
