Using parcel delivery

Batay sa Agosto 2026Awtomatikong salinPinagmulan: 한국소비자원2 tingin

Korean parcel delivery is fast and cheap. Just keep records in case something goes wrong.

How to send

  1. Convenience store delivery — through an app or in-store machine. Relatively cheap and available 24 hours.
  2. Post office delivery — at a branch or by pickup.
  3. Courier apps and phone — CJ Logistics, Lotte, Hanjin.
  4. Home pickup — request in the app and a driver comes.

When sending

  • Write the address and contact accurately. See korean-address.
  • Wrap fragile items well and ask for a "handle with care" label.
  • Always keep the tracking number. It is the basis for tracing and compensation.
  • Photograph the item before sending — it helps in damage disputes.
  • Cash, valuables and hazardous goods cannot be sent, or have limited compensation.

When receiving

  • If you are out, parcels are often left with security or in a parcel locker.
  • Door delivery carries theft risk. Use a parcel locker where possible.
  • Check the condition on receipt and, if damaged, photograph it and contact the courier immediately.

If something goes wrong

  1. Trace it with the tracking number.
  2. File with the courier's customer centre and submit photos.
  3. Tell the seller too for online purchases.
  4. If unresolved, consult 1372 (Consumer Counselling Centre).
  5. If theft is suspected, you can report to 112.

Where to go

Questions people ask

My parcel disappeared. Trace it and check the delivery completion photo. File with the courier, and report theft to 112.

It arrived broken. Photograph it exactly as packaged and tell the courier and seller immediately. After unpacking and tidying up, proof becomes difficult.

I wrote the wrong address. Contact the courier immediately. Changes are sometimes possible before dispatch.

A parcel arrived that I didn't order. Never pay for it. There are scams that induce cash-on-delivery payment. Check the sender on the waybill and refuse receipt if it looks wrong.

Take care

Never tap links in "delivery error" text messages. This is the classic smishing method. Tapping installs malware and money is taken. Always track parcels through the official app or website. See voice-phishing.
