Steps
- Compare plans at www.mvnohub.kr.
- Check your current phone can be used. Most can.
- Order a SIM. Apply online for postal delivery, or buy at a convenience store.
- Activate it. Verify your identity in the app or by phone.
- You can keep your number. Apply for number portability.

Questions people ask
Is the signal worse? No — it is the same network, so quality is the same.
Can foreign residents sign up? Yes. Identity is verified with your Alien Registration Card. Procedures differ by provider, so ask first.

The customer centre is Korean only. Some providers offer support for foreign customers. Check before signing up.
Take care
If someone offers an unusually cheap deal and pushes you to open several lines, it may be a criminal phone scheme. Open only the line you will use. Never give your SIM to anyone.
