Getting a mobile phone
There are two ways to use a phone in Korea. With an Alien Registration Card you can take a regular plan; before that, a prepaid SIM works.

Steps
- Decide which suits you. Short stay: prepaid. Long stay: a regular plan is usually cheaper.
- Visit a shop with your documents.
- Check the plan and the contract. Ask about the contract period, cancellation penalty and any add-on services enabled by default.
- Set up payment. A direct debit avoids missed bills.
