Setting up mobile banking

Batay sa Agosto 2026Awtomatikong salinPinagmulan: 금융감독원 파인2 tingin

With mobile banking you rarely need to visit the bank. The first setup is fiddly — ask for help when you open the account.

Steps

  1. Install the bank app. Search the bank's name in the app store.
  2. Register and enrol your device. You need your Alien Registration Card details and account number.
  3. Create an authentication method — a joint certificate, financial certificate, simple PIN, fingerprint or face recognition.
  4. Check your transfer limits. They start low.
  5. Save the accounts you send to often.
  6. Turn on notifications so you see deposits and withdrawals immediately.

What you need

  • A smartphone
  • A phone number in your own name (for identity verification)
  • Alien Registration Card
  • Your account number and password

Where to go

  • The branch where you opened the account (setup help)
  • Your bank's customer centre

Questions people ask

The app is only in Korean. Some bank apps support other languages. Ask "do you have a foreign language app?" when opening the account.

Identity verification fails. Verification is blocked if the phone is not in your name. See the phone-verification guide.

I changed my phone. You must enrol the new device — in the app or at a branch.

Can I remit overseas in the app? Many banks allow it, though the first transaction may need a branch visit.

Take care

Bank staff never ask for your password or verification code by phone. Being told to tap a link in a text and install an app is fraud. Hang up and call the bank's official number yourself.
