National immunisation is free. It is the surest and cheapest way to protect your child's health.

What is included

BCG (tuberculosis), hepatitis B, DTaP, polio, Hib, pneumococcal, rotavirus, MMR, varicella, hepatitis A, Japanese encephalitis, influenza, HPV and more.

Timing and types change. Check the current schedule at nip.kdca.go.kr or the public health centre.

Steps

  1. Find a designated clinic or health centre at nip.kdca.go.kr.
  2. Bring the baby's handbook.
  3. Tell them how your child is. A fever or illness may mean postponing.
  4. Stay at the clinic 20–30 minutes afterwards to check for reactions.
  5. Record it in the handbook.

Questions people ask

Is it free for foreign-national children? National immunisation support has eligibility rules. Check directly with the public health centre — they often provide it free.

We have vaccination records from home. Bring the record or certificate and the schedule can continue from there. Translation may be needed.

We missed the schedule. You can still catch up. Go to the health centre and have the remaining schedule rebuilt. Do not give up.

My child has a fever after the shot. That is a common reaction. But a persistent high fever, convulsions or breathing difficulty means 119 or hospital.

My child is ill — can they still be vaccinated? A mild cold is usually fine, but a fever means postponing. Ask the doctor.

Take care

Always carry the baby's handbook. Without the record, shots may have to be repeated. Photograph it and save to the cloud so losing it is not a disaster.
