Staying in Korea after your spouse dies
If your Korean spouse dies, there are paths to continue your F-6 stay, because this is a reason outside your control.

Steps
- Prepare the death record documents. Death certificate, family relation certificate.
- Apply to immigration to extend or maintain your status.
- Ask about changing status if needed. There may be a status that fits your situation (work, residence).
- Check inheritance and survivor benefits. A National Pension survivor benefit may apply.
