If you lose your passport
Losing your passport is manageable if you follow the order. Police report → embassy replacement → immigration notification.

Steps
- Report the loss or theft at a nearby police station. Get the loss report confirmation document.
- Contact your country's embassy or consulate. Apply for a replacement or a travel certificate. Documents and procedures differ by country.
- Receive the new passport.
- Notify the immigration office of the passport change. Your alien registration record must match the new passport number.
- Update your identity details with banks, telecom providers and others.
